Directory layout I had the privilege of designing for one of the buildings I managed while I was working for Buchanan Properties, LLC. The client (my boss) decided to go with a static digital directory, as opposed to a touch screen (budgetary reasons). I designed this layout to provide visitors to the building with essential information, such as the tenant names / suites, weather info, time / date, and news headlines. The directory is connected to a CMS service and should be updated daily. I chose to utilize an image of the building , that I captured myself, in the background in order to give it some flavor. A pure white background was too simple, and the thought of using stock commercial real estate photography seemed too mundane. The real challenge was figuring out how to list the large pool of tenants in the building and include other information the client requested as necessary.
